Graphite Composites

Back to the invention list

Graphite composites providing flexible structural materials useable at temperatures higher than possible with metals.

This is a high tech aerospace type of product, at least initially.

It may be useful as structural members in rockets, structures in outer space, and for structural members in high supersonic and hypersonic aircraft (where heating is a problem).

The composite is extremely light, flexible, strong, and resistant to heat, particularly in reducing atmospheres or in vacuum.

In oxidizing atmospheres it resist heat up to the burning point of carbon (graphite), maintaining full strength and elasticity etc.
